Dr Bennett now offers consultations to children and adolescents with developmental and behavioural concerns via telehealth. A telehealth service provides visual and audio connection between Dr Bennett and her patients around Australia.
New clients are generally limited to children who have previously been assessed by a paediatrician, psychologist or psychiatrist. Often these consultations are for children and adolescents who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Dr Bennett then provides a shared-care paediatric management model in conjunction with the local GP. Patient’s who have not had paediatric consultation at a face to face clinic, are often required to attend an appointment at Dr Bennett’s clinic or their closest paediatrician before or after the initial telehealth consultation.
Dr Bennett’s current clinic patients are welcome to enquire whether telehealth consultations are an option for their future appointments. Please discuss this with Dr Bennett or her receptionist at your earliest convenience.
The Government provides Medicare Rebates for telehealth consultations with a specialist for patients who are in telehealth eligible areas. You can review your individual eligibility for Medicare rebates for telehealth consultations with Dr Bennett by visiting the Australian Government Human Services website.
